A lot of my attention is spent helping those who are recovering from the damaging effects of an ex-gay experience. In fact, while I was performing music full time, I would also speak against reparative therapy, I published a workbook called Ex-gay? No-Way! and I held a handful of workshops and retreats on the subject. It's one of the main reasons I got my degree in sexology. I am now hard at work turning the above workbook into an entire book on the subject. Here's an exerpt from the book, Ex-gay? No-Way! Many of you are aware of my final dissertation documentary project, The Last Dance Raid. It recounts what has become known as the 1965 police raid on California Hall where straight ministers came to the defense of gays and lesbians and created a milestone court case for the city of San Francisco and the world. Although enough was completed to graduate, there is still a lot of fine tuning to be done on it -- editing the story, music score, color correction, tracking down archival footage, etc... Much of this time-consuming work also requires an enormous amount of money. So we are applying for all kinds of grants and looking into possibilities on cable and public television.
